A collaboration between South African label Mushroom Hour Half Hour and Total Refreshment Centre recordings, the project was recorded in Johannesburg, London and Dakar. The project includes the album, artwork, a fanzine and an experimental film made by South African filmmakers.

Subtitled "Burning Spear Productions 1975-1979," the collection includes recordings for the Spear label that Burning Spear (Winston Rodney) set up himself, as an outlet for his own productions as well as other artists'. The compilation includes original vocal tracks, discomixes & dub versions by Burning Spear, and tracks by some of the other best musicians of the day.
