Drawn to each other’s creative energy, Russell would soon start to provide Ginsberg with musical backing during his poetry readings. Continuing their friendship as Ginsberg supported Russell in his musical career, “Ballad of the Lights” was recorded in NYC in 1977 with Russell’s band, The Flying Hearts and Ginsberg participating in voice. After many years of sleep, Ballad Of The Lights was unearthed by Audika Records from deep in Arthur Russell’s vast archive.

"Margaret Murray was a force in musical education in Britain and around the world for more than 50 years. She was inspired by the music and ideas of Carl Orff, who she met in Germany in the early 1950s. From 1957 she collaborated with Gunild Keetman in delivering an English-language version of the composer's seminal Orff-Schulwerk. From 1963 Margaret presented Orff courses throughout the UK, South Africa, Australia and the USA, and in 1965 she initiated and led the first English-speaking Summer Course at the Orff Institute, Salzburg. She provided countless translations of all the important documents relating to the work of Carl Orff and the Schulwerk, an achievement that is highly respected world-wide,( my note- and no doubt responsible in no small part for the proliferation of Orff's methodologies). - Orff Society UK"

Eric Siday (1 November 1905 – 26 March 1976) was a British-American composer and musician. While most commonly known for his pioneering work in electroacoustic music, his early career was that of a hot-jazz violinist in the London dance bands in the Roaring ’20s, including Ray Starita's Piccadilly Revels. Even then, as a young violinist, his improvised soloing style was amazingly advanced for his era. He played with a remarkably modern chromatic style, verging on atonal, often incorporating multi-stops (playing up to four notes in harmony on the violin simultaneously utilizing multiple fingers). - wiki
"Sure on this shining night, Of starmade shadows round, Kindness must watch for me this side of the ground. The late year lies down the north. All is healed, all is health. High summer holds the earth. Hearts all whole.Sure on this shining night I weep for wonder wandering far alone. Of shadows on the stars."
